The second edition of Art Affair with Care - Equivalent Emotions, an exhibition of animal portraits by artist Gumi Malhotra will be held on the 19th of May at Just Be from 2 pm to 7 pm.
All proceeds raised will go towards the animals of Charlie's Animal Rescue CentrE (CARE).
This charity art exhibition will depict the lives and emotions of animals found in urban spaces.
In the artist's words
"Animals we see everyday become almost invisible to us. Cows obstructing traffic, chickens huddled in cages, placid goats tied up outside a butcher’s shop, donkeys pulling loaded carts and monkeys being a menace in our urban space.
In reality, these conditions are not natural to them, they’re facing the outcome of our needs. Their senses are intact, as are their emotions. This realization is an uncomfortable one. Every time one passes these creatures, one is engulfed in helplessness.
These paintings are as much a tribute to these stoic animals as they are an attempt to alleviate my sense of guilt." - Gumi Malhotra
