Nada Yoga by Meenal Nigam

by Meenal Nigam (1).jpg

What is Nada Yoga?

The Sanskrit word Nada means sound or flow of consciousness and yoga means union. Therefore, the practices of nada yoga can be understood as a union through sound or the flow of sound. Nada yoga incorporates all forms of sound or music. Sound uplifts, transforms, brings joy, beauty, generates love, kindness, excitement, sound heals, soothes, energizes, involves, ensures, revives, satisfies, generates and awakens. Sound is the source of all creation, living, and non-living. It is a journey from the noise of the external world inward to a place of Peace and Bliss, to the source of Transformational power of sound - the Nada. By meditating on the inner sacred sound of the Nada, we can release ourselves from mind chatter and obsessive thinking. We can still the body, quiet the mind, and open the heart to create a state of mind where joy naturally arises. This is the experience we can expect as we become advanced Nada Yogis.

Benefits of Nada Yoga

* The increased concentration and creativity leads to a better performance in every role that life offers you.

* Speakers and singers benefit from this technique as the vocal cords are specially prepared for clarity and enhanced tonal quality and expression.

* Students develop better listening and understanding skills

* Helps overcome addictions.

* Reduces stress by internalisation through the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system.

* Above all, it gives wisdom and capacity to take charge of life and enables to bridge the gap between the material and spiritual world.

* Working Homemakers become effective time managers and benefit themselves and their families from multiple ways of chanting and affirming.

In general, consistent interaction with the field can build an unseen connection with the whole world and the world beyond words and forms.

Details of the workshop

* Kayasthairyam - The art of stilling the self (body and mind)

* Hatha yoga - Relaxing and loosening the body

* Pranayama - Breathwork including Bandhas

* Western vocal chord exercises - Beneficial for a range of professionals including singers, speakers, actors, coaches and leaders

* Swar Sadhana - Meditation with sounds

STORYTIME YOGA is our forte. Since five years we have been pioneering children body-centred education and yoga therapy program that integrates yoga and oral storytelling, relaxation, meditation and character education to produce healthy and happy children. There are different kinds of sound produced during the season which helps children in practising breathing techniques.

Combination of both yoga and storytelling is unique and help children to benefit in even more ways in a fun, interactive way.

The workshop is open to anyone who is above 3.5 years and above.

* Storytelling is a wonderful way for children to engage in literacy and language activities.

*It enhances flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness.

*Yoga postures help children express certain feelings

*The children mimic animals and objects which helps the kids release excess energy and create balance in a busy, fuzzy and erratic mind

* They learn to be proactive instead of reactive to demanding circumstances

Golden Inner Child Healing - Workshop by Varsha Morarka

Golden Inner Child Healing - Workshop by Varsha Morarka

Golden Inner Child Healing (3).jpg

What/Who is the Golden Inner Child?

The Golden Child is a carefree, joyous, trusting, creative, loving aspect of oneself which exists within.

What does a Golden Inner Child Day long session do?

Golden Inner Child session is the work one does to resolve the childhood emotions and experiences this inner part of oneself still holds, as well as harness the joy, innocence, confidence and the ability to live in the now moment, that is your birthright. A day long "work" will release chosen areas/ emotions/incidents. In fact, these unresolved frequencies and unconscious memory fragments lead adults to behave and identify unconsciously with their golden inner child's original "wounding". It s such that one oft times feel as if they are sitting in the passenger seat while their inner child is flying their vehicle into a black hole of suffering. That is why it is imperative to do the internal work and process these deep wounds, which "wound" around the DNA and deeply program into the genetic makeup of one's own karmic records. Once all the karma is cleared back to source point, that is the mark of a truly liberated soul.

Why would my Golden Inner Child hold hidden emotions?

Childhood trauma leaves a child with shame, rejection, abandonment, abuse..these repressed emotions then lead to cycles of self-sabotage in adulthood. For example, if you were taught to repress pain as a child, you might run away from good relationships rather than allow yourself to be hurt. The end result is always feeling lonely. Or if you were taught you must always be pleasing to win love, you end up with a codependent relationship.

What can You expect after such a Day long session?

The benefits are impressive:

~accessing repressed memories that are holding you back

~ being able to feel again after years of being numb in a area of your life

~ gaining personal power and the ability to set boundaries

~feeling self-compassion and loving yourself more

~gaining self-confidence

~ being able to enjoy life and have fun more naturally, childlike

How long does the effect of such a session last?

The good news is that once we do the work on a chosen area, it lasts forever.

What are the "take-aways" from such a session?

The issues that you can release:

~ childhood abuse- emotional, sexual, physical

~ depression and anxiety

~ anger management issue

~ low self esteem

~ abandonment issues

~ emotional numbness

~ self criticism

~ Self-sabotage

~ codependency and powerlessness

Storytelling with Yoga for Kids by Happy Living

WhatsApp Image 2019-07-30 at 11.36.21 AM.jpeg

STORYTIME YOGA is Happy Living’s forte. Since five years we have been pioneering children's body - centered education and yoga therapy program that intergrates yoga and oral storytelling, relaxation, mediation and character education to produce healthy and happy children. There are different kinds of sound produce during the season which helps children in practicing breathing techniques.

The event / classes/ workshop is open to children between 3.5 years and above.

Please contact +91 98453 53363 to book your spot.

Combination of both yoga and storytelling help children to benefit in even more ways in a fun, interactive way.

👉 Storytelling is a wonderful way for children to engage in literacy and language activities.

👉 It enhances flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness

👉 It helps to improve concentration while instilling a sense of calm.

👉 Yoga postures help children express certain feelings,

👉 The children mimic animals and objects which helps the kids release excess energy and create balance in a busy, fuzzy, erratic mind.

👉 They learn to be proactive instead of reactive to demanding circumstances.

👉 By using visualization and storytelling, children get rid of their fears and challenges.

Introduce your children to this amazing form of art🎨
Mandala dot painting is the technique used - that it is produced by repeated imprints of a paint covered brush, dotting stick or other implement onto the surface of the painting and that in doing so, there are recognisable 'dot' marks on the canvas.

Dot mandalas in childhood is related to better development in three fields: emotional, cognitive and behavioral. The stimuli that the little one receives in doing this activity are varied, and are all beneficial to their growth!

The session and the workshop would benefit the children in no of ways

1. Foster attention and concentration
2. They favor fine psychomotricity in the fingers
3. To Reduce stress and anxiety
4. They help to develop patience, perseverance, constancy.
5. They allow them to acquire knowledge about geometric forms and think spatially
6. They bring well-being, increase creativity and imagination, will enable them to combine colors and figures.
7. They increase self-esteem and stimulate aesthetic sense.

If children painted mandalas on a regular basis, many fights, arguments, and inappropriate behaviors would be avoided.

The workshop would be open to children for 6 years and above.

The workshop duration would be for an hour or so. The workshop fees would be RS 450 inclusive of all materials.

Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. We call these patterns, tangles. You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs.

Access Bars Workshop

65142787_2371330126485987_702516534907502592_n.jpg

What are “The Bars”?
The Bars are a series of 32 points on the head, which when lightly touched release old energies stuck in the brain and the body, allowing for tremendous and easy change.

What does a Bars session do?
The Bars takes all the considerations, thoughts, feelings, emotions, decisions, judgments, and beliefs from any lifetime, that are electrically stored in the brain and releases them. This release occurs when the bars are touched; it allows that stored junk to be released.

What can you expect after receiving the Bars?
Every Bars session is different. The worst that can happen after a Bars session is you feel as relaxed as if you had received a great massage. The best that can happen is your whole life can change.

How long does the effect of a Bars session last?
Once you have your Bars done, the Bars “run” or continue to release stuck energy forever. Every time you have it done after that, the effect becomes more dynamic.

Love yourself, heal your life workshop!

The two-day workshop on Heal your life is a powerful and transformational experience.

The workshop was developed by Louise Hay in the 1980’s. Louise Hay was a healer and motivational speaker. Worked extensively with dysfunctional families all over the world.

The workshop is based on the philosophy of Louise Hay. It covers four aspects of ourselves- mind, body, emotions and spirit. Through exercises, meditations and visualizations, participants are invited to uncover repressed emotions, outdated limiting beliefs, repetitive patterns of behavior. Participants get to understand how these patterns could be sabotaging one’s life in the present; and, not allowing one to live a life of abundance.

The workshop offers profound insight into the relationship between the mind and body. Exploring the way that limiting thoughts and ideas control and constrict us; and understanding the connection between our physical illnesses and our mindsets.

The safe and private space of the workshop allows the participants to get in touch with their inner child; the unexpressed, unmet needs; grieve for it and begin the healing process. Through different exercises individuals get to understand themselves deeply; to break through the layers of old conditioning; and find the beauty inside.

A healing process like this in a group exposes participants to others, who are also struggling with pain and inner conflicts. The group healing method of affirmations and support provides for a spiritual experience.

Ragini Rao TSTA (Psychotherapy) is an accredited psychotherapist and certified trainer of the International Transactional Analysis Association. She has 25 years & over 5000 hours experience in Psychotherapy and Training. Qualified as a licensed workshop leader for ‘Heal your Life’ workshops based on the philosophy of Louise L. Hay. She runs advanced training groups in Transactional Analysis to train individuals to become certified therapists. She has a Masters in Psychology from the Univ. of Delhi.

Acrylic on Canvas - Blue Door

60717151_2331687973577496_7426340003468279808_n.jpg

A brightly colored front door not only adds a fun pop of color and an extra dose of personality to a home, it also has a deeper significance. Like a necktie, which is the focal point of an outfit, the front door is the focal point of the home. A blue front door signals that the homeowner views his or her home as a place of refuge - calm, serene, and relaxing, the perfect retreat from an often harsh and demanding world. Those who paint their doors blue enjoy peace and value truth. They are well grounded and true to themselves. In the Chinese philosophy of feng shui, blue represents water and abundance. It belongs to the water element. A blue front door blue is a good choice because it suggests abundance and prosperity. Of course, its also possible that there was an extra can of blue paint lying around and someone got bored one afternoon! Come paint this happiest of pictures with us.

Kurchigalu (Chairs) - A Kannada Play

Untitled-1-01.jpg

Kurchigalu (Chairs)

Original Playwright: Eugene Ianesco

“I find that the world is a comedy. It is ridiculous. It is comical because it is tragic. I feel that comedy is one side of tragedy. Comedy is the tragedy of tragedy.”     - Eugene Ianesco

Director’s note

Will people remember me? Will my facebook post be liked? Will I reach my potential? Will others like me for me or should I change myself for them? Will my boss like me? Is there life after death? These are some of the questions that have haunted human existence for sometime now and also some of the central themes of the play kurchigalu. Here, the old man’s struggle for being remembered slowly turns into desperation. The climax of this struggle and the story is open to audience interpretation.

‘Kurchigalu’ falls into the category of ‘Theatre of the Absurd’. Theatre of the absurd often moves away from the concept of ‘Well made theatre’. It breaks away from what is considered normal  in realistic theatre . The characters in an absurd play usually have monotonous lives but become confused when they face the absurd world outside of them.

It is believed that it easy to label something as mad, but equally hard to accept the madness, the absurdity within us. Theatre of the Absurd encourages us to find our own truths in what it considers a largely absurd, ultimately meaningless world.

So our request to you is keep an open mind, to get curious, go with the flow, question, seek answers on the way, expect the unexpected and make as many meanings of this story as you want. As Peter Brooks once famously stated “Play with the play!”.

Tickets - ₹200
